Have you ever contemplated the mark you want to leave on the world? At ALTEX Wire and Cable our lasting mark is all about how we treat our customers. For our team, it’s important for our customers to know we have their backs, that we will go above and beyond to take care of them and make sure we meet their expectations. In many cases, we know our clients’ businesses as well as we know our own.

Meet Lisa Thornberry – Technical Sales and Planning/Scheduling Coordinator

Over Lisa’s years with the company, she has developed strong relationships with the ALTEX family of customers and goes above and beyond to show each client how much ALTEX appreciates their business.  She is a champion when it comes to emulating the ALTEX experience.
“The biggest thing that sets us apart is our people,” says Rick Bromm, president of ALTEX. “We’re so glad to have Lisa as part of the ALTEX team. She cares for our customers just like family.”
We recently sat down with Lisa for a customer service Q & A. “As a 20-year ALTEX employee, she has played a key role in growing and nurturing client accounts,” Rick says.
Q: Lisa, share with us why you enjoy working within customer service at ALTEX?
A: I moved around a lot as a child. I experienced 13 different schools between kindergarten and graduating high school. It helped me to learn to talk to people; to not be afraid to approach new people and make new friends. It also taught me to listen and handle all kinds of different situations, which are skills that serves me well in my position.
Q: What is secret to the all-star ALTEX experience?
A: Communication. Our customers are #1 and they deserve our best. We always confirm everything with the client, such as the details of the project, cost expectations and delivery lead times. We believe you can’t over communicate. We know our clients depend on us to satisfy their end user needs, so we never want to inform the client at the last minute of program changes or perhaps delays in delivery.
Q: Tell us about the culture of ALTEX.
A: It’s simply a great place to work. We have strong leadership, we’re active in our communities, everyone feels valued, and we’re all encouraged to offer ideas that contribute to improving the organization. It’s a happy place and the customers can sense that.
Q: What do you most look forward to as ALTEX continues to grow in the coming years?
A: It’s thrilling to manufacture wire harnessing for everything from complex rail box builds to wire harnesses for the mobility industry. I can’t wait to see where innovation takes us next. I know there will be ample opportunity for employees to grow as ALTEX continues to grow.
